Can I buy VetriScience products directly?

At VetriScience® Laboratories, we sell products to licensed veterinarians, animal clinics, and veterinary hospitals. If you are not a veterinarian, please contact your vet clinic or find a local clinic through our Find a Clinic Locator. If your vet is not currently carrying the VetriScience® product you are looking for, it can be special ordered through the clinic.

What nutritional supplements would be best for my cat/dog/horse?

VetriScience® thanks you for turning to our company with matters concerning your pet's health. We are truly excited that you are ready to take the next step in developing a well-rounded diet for your pet that includes our high quality nutritional supplements!

As an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) regulated company, we are prohibited from making health claims and product recommendations. Because each animal's individual biochemical makeup varies, every animal has its own unique set of nutritional needs. While we are happy to share product information about our condition specific or overall health supplements, we ask that you review that information with your vet in order to make the best possible dietary choices for your companion animal.

Where can I buy VetriScience products?

VetriScience® primarily sells to licensed veterinarians. This allows the vet to recommend the appropriate product to clients based on their unique nutritional needs. We also have an online consumer store located through our Where to Buy page. Please locate the Where to Buy green button at the bottom of our website and follow the prompts to Buy From A Vet. Clicking on the green “Interested in buying?” hyperlink next to any product image (when viewing its informational page) will also connect you to our Where To Buy page. Instructions are provided at the top of this page on how to use our online store, and we provide a list of all Affiliated Veterinarians which connect to our store. Please note that ALL veterinarian links connect to the same online store, and will reflect the same standard pricing. If my Vet doesn't carry VetriScience®, where can I buy it?

We are happy to locate a veterinarian in your local area, or you can visit our Veterinarian Affiliate page to access our Online Store. Please call VetriScience® at 1-800-882-9993 to speak with a representative who can help you with this search.

Can more than one VetriScience® product be used at the same time?

VetriScience® products are designed to complement each other, and known contraindications are indicated on the label of each product. However, your licensed veterinarian is the only person who can make decisions about the appropriate supplement program for each patient; this is based on the animal's unique health needs and medical conditions. Because of the biochemical individuality of each animal, all possible contraindications may not be ruled out.

If I live outside the United States, how can I purchase VetriScience®?

VetriScience® does sell to licensed veterinarians in countries outside of the United States. Please contact our International Sales division to speak with your Sales Representative at 1-800-882-9993 x1960.

What should I do if my animal overdoses/has more than their recommended dose?

Please contact your veterinarian emergency animal hospital immediately. They may instruct you to bring your pet into their emergency care center, or they may have you call VetriScience® directly. If it is within our business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Eastern Standard Time), you may contact our corporate office at 800-882-9993. VetriScience® can record your overdose event and put you in contact with our Overdose Specialists. Please do not take matters into your own hands during an adverse event. Always contact an animal hospital in your local area.

Where are your products made?

VetriScience® products are manufactured in the United States. However, we source the raw material for our products from both inside and outside the United States. Our raw material suppliers acquire high quality ingredients from all over the world. Depending on our needs and current market supplies, a particular raw material may be from one country in one batch, and from another country in another batch. For our raw materials, we require a Certificate of Analysis, which documents the quality, purity, and potency. This qualifies each raw material before accepting it for production.

Our parent company - FoodScience® Corporation - is certified to operate under current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) protocols. Under these protocols, we require that each ingredient in a formula be supplied with the respective Certificate of Analysis. This means that the supplier is required to test the ingredient for contaminants, such as heavy metals, microorganisms, and other physical or chemical parameters unique to the ingredient, before the ingredient is shipped. Any raw materials that do not meet our specifications are sent back to the supplier. Upon receipt of a raw material, it is tested for potency and other parameters outlined in the ingredient's specification sheet. Test results are compared against the established specifications.

What is the source of your flavoring?

Many of our products contain flavorings from natural sources. For example, the most popular flavor used in our bite-sized chews is chicken liver. In this instance, the chicken is derived through the hydrolysis of real chicken livers. Chickens used to derive this flavoring are from the U.S. and are USDA inspected and processed in USDA inspected facilities.

You may also see a term in some of our chews called "Natural Imitation Chicken Flavor." This means that the flavoring comes from a vegetable source rather than chicken liver. Other flavors we use for either chewable tablets or bite-sized chews are as follows: Beef, Smoke (natural hickory), Fish, and Apple (used in Equine products). Is it ok the double the recommended dose if I feel that my animal needs stronger/better support?

Please follow all dosing instructions stated on our packaging. VetriScience® calculates our dosing strength according to the animal's weight. Never increase dosing on a nutritional supplement without discussing it with your vet first.

Does VetriScience® clinically test their products, and can they provide research?

While we do not test all of our products with clinical trials, our products are developed by our well-educated and qualified New Product Development team. In addition, VetriScience® has a skilled Research and Development team, a Veterinary Review Board, and is assisted by resident Biochemist Dr. Roger Kendall, PhD, and holistic veterinarian Dr. Susan Wynn, DVM. Detail sheets are available for every product in our supplement line. These provide a breakdown and explanation of ingredients used in in each formulation, along with the values provided in each Product Facts panel.

Are these products considered treats/does VetriScience make treats or pet food?

VetriScience® offers a line of condition specific nutritional supplements. These provide therapeutic levels of vitamins, minerals, and other dietary nutrients. These are not formulated to be used as a treat, training aid, or pill pocket.

My product arrived after shipping in a hot truck, has it gone bad? OR: My product arrived and sat in the sun/in my (hot) mail box for a few hours, is it still good?

During the hot months of summer, there is concern that products sent through normal delivery channels are subject to deterioration. Our experience has been that short exposure to higher temperatures during shipping does not have an effect on the efficacy of our products. Stability studies are performed on many of our products. The results show that any changes on our products during shipping are minimal. However, if your product smells rancid, or there is marked discoloration compared with what you are used to seeing in our tablets/chews/capsules, please notify a VetriScience® Customer Service Rep by calling 1-800-882-9993. VetriScience® can consult with our Quality Control Department to review product quality.

Do VetriScience® products require refrigeration?

Refrigeration of our products is not recommended due to the fact that refrigeration produces moisture, which can degrade nutrients, change smell, and reduce the shelf life on nutritional supplements. Please follow the storage instructions on our labels.

Is it ok to give VetriScience products in conjunction with my animal’s current medication/specialized prescription pet food/other non- VetriScience® supplements?

As an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) compliant company, we are prohibited from making health claims and product recommendations. Because each animal's individual biochemical makeup varies, every animal has its own unique set of nutritional needs. Because VetriScience® has not tested the combination of our supplements with your animal's current medication or prescription diet, we cannot make recommendations about combining these products. While we are happy to share product information about our condition specific or overall health supplements, we ask that you review that information with your vet to make the best possible dietary choices for your companion animal.
